Today, November 18, 2013, is graphic novelist Alan Moore’s 60th birthday. To celebrate, here is the documentary The Mindscape of Alan Moore, available online in full for free.
English writer Alan Moore is most notably the author of works such as Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and From Hell.
Moore started out writing for fanzines in the 1970s, and worked his way into publishing comic strips, before getting noticed by DC Comics. He was the first Brit to contribute to major U.S. series like Batman and Superman. He also was a main component in developing the character Swamp Thing.
Moore is nothing short of a living legend in the world of graphic novels and comics.
The Mindscape of Alan Moore
The 2005 documentary The Mindscape of Alan Moore is director DeZ Vylenz’s debut, and is the only feature length doc that Moore has allowed his work to be freely used, as he collaborated in the project. It is so far also the only documentary Vylenz has made.
The soundtrack, which was composed by Drew Richards, features original music by RZA of Wu-Tang Clan.
The DVD features tons of extras, including interviews with Moore collaborators, a making of featurette, trailers, director commentaries, and a 20 page booklet. The extras are definitely worth it for diehard Moore fans.
